Track AI answer referrals with the browser pixel

The browser pixel can measure recognized AI answer referral clicks on sites that permit third-party scripts. It uses a public, hostname-bound workspace identifier and needs no secret API key. Published-site verification is part of the install.

Check hosted-platform compatibility first

Foglift has not verified the browser pixel on Shopify. Do not treat a visible Custom Code field as proof that the script can load and send referral data.

Shopify: Compatibility test required. Shopify custom pixels run inside a sandbox, and not every browser-pixel capability works there. Foglift will publish this path only after a real store proves the script GET and cross-origin POST. Shopify's custom-pixel limits
Wix: Install Foglift AI Tracking. Foglift AI Tracking uses Wix's sanctioned embedded-script app channel. Open Connections, choose Install Wix app, and approve the Wix consent screen. Foglift binds automatically when the site domain exactly matches the workspace domain; otherwise Foglift can bind the installed site manually. Wix measures recognized AI referral clicks and visits from JavaScript-executing agents. Classic crawler-request capture is platform-dependent and still under evaluation. Open Connections

1. Copy your generated pixel

Open AI Traffic while signed in to copy the snippet with your workspace identifier filled in. That identifier is safe in page source and cannot access your account.

2. Add it to every page

Use the site-wide Head field for your hosted platform:

Webflow: Paste into site-wide Custom Code in the Head.
Framer: Paste into Custom Code at the end of the Head.
Squarespace: Paste into Code Injection in the Header.

These placement fields can accept a script, but Foglift has not yet published screenshot walkthroughs for them. Do not place JavaScript in a CSS field or a single-page embed. Publish the change site-wide so any landing page can record a recognized referral.

3. Verify the placement

Publish the site and open a public page in a private browser window.
Confirm pixel.js returns successfully in the browser Network panel.
Confirm a recognized test referral sends a successful cross-origin POST to Foglift.
Return to AI Traffic. The first recognized AI answer referral appears when a visitor arrives from a supported AI answer surface.

A successful script load proves the placement is live. It does not create a referral event and does not prove that an AI engine cited, indexed, or recommended the site.
